General Manager, Byron Bay Bio
Operations & Regulatory Strategy | Cannabis Industry Leader
Shaye Harty is the General Manager of Byron Bay Bio, where she leads operational strategy, regulatory governance and execution across the company’s medicinal cannabis and biotechnology portfolio.
Her experience in medicinal cannabis began in the early 2000s in Humboldt County, California, during the formative years of the medical cannabis movement. That early exposure to cultivation networks and evolving compliance frameworks provided first hand insight into the cultural, regulatory and structural complexities of plant-based medicine.
Shaye brings more than two decades of leadership experience in high stakes regulatory environments. She previously held senior roles at the Burning Man Project, where she directed federal compliance coordination with the U.S. Bureau of Land Management and oversaw governance systems for an 80,000-person event operating under federal oversight. Her work focused on building structured compliance frameworks, risk mitigation systems and operational protocols that translated regulatory requirements into scalable execution models.
At Byron Bay Bio, Shaye is responsible for translating scientific and genomic innovation into structured, compliant systems capable of scaling across regulated markets. Her work ensures that chemotypic standardisation, diagnostic innovation and plant-based therapeutics are supported by defensible governance, audit-ready documentation and international regulatory readiness.
