Her favourite part of medicine is looking after an entire family. She has an interest in preventative health, and helping everyone to achieve the best possible health outcomes. Kerrie enjoys women’s health, men’s health, antenatal care, paediatrics, weight management and mental health, including addiction medicine. She also does skin checks and simple excisions.
Kerrie has capacity to provide cognitive based therapy (CBT) under the Focussed Psychological Strategies program for eligible patients with a Mental Health Care Plan from their GP. Her areas of interest are mild to moderate depression, anxiety and phobias.
Kerrie is an ACT AMA Board Member (2021) and the current President for the ACT. She relishes the opportunity to advocate for quality healthcare in the ACT region, as well as addressing the long term challenges associated with underfunding of primary care in Australia. She is a member of the RACGP, the ACT Medical Women’s Society and the Canberra Transgender Care Network.
She volunteers with DRS4DRS ACT. In this role Kerrie works with the local committee and on-call team to support doctors and medical students in the Canberra Region.
Outside of medicine Kerrie tries to practice what she promotes and enjoys running, cycling and walking her beautiful dogs. Kerrie likes baking, or enjoying the spoils of someone else spending time in the kitchen. She devours books frequently, and loves to recommend her favourites to anyone who will listen.
