Cathy Uechtritz

Director, Government Relations - Archdiocese of Brisbane

From growing up in remote parts of Papua New Guinea, to secondary education in boarding schools in Australia and Switzerland, operating and managing vast areas of cattle and sheep properties whilst raising and educating 4 children in the remote Australian outback, to a professional life in journalism, communications and senior political advisory in Sydney, Canberra, the Middle East, Korea, SE Asia - and now Brisbane – Cathy’s life journey and experience has given her a strong insight into social justice matters across all warps of life and cultures.  

Her role as Director of Government Relations for the Catholic Archdiocese of Brisbane, allows her to pursue her passion for social justice through advocacy to government doing so through utilising her extensive long-standing relationships across all three levels of government, a thorough understanding of political processes, public policy and government decision making, to influence and have a seat at the table on policy making and programs in social services and education sectors.
